Time Travel Post – Wrightwood to Tehachapi: Part 2

Welcome To Bear Country PCT 2018

Yep, here it is – Welcome to Bear Country. Now you have snakes, cougars and bears, oh my! And it seems crazy because he’s still in lots of high desert type area and it’s HOT! This really is no-man’s land (at least not any of the smart ones would be here…) and so for this series he shot lots of video – probably because there really isn’t much that’s all that impressive to see as he walks the eastern perimeter of Edwards AFB.

Up into the mountains, again…

And then this is the final post of this two day stretch. It’s first thing in the morning after his camp. As he says his next destination is a tiny sliver of civilization at a KOA Campground in Acton, CA which is at mile 444.

I know he had a lot of fun there, because that night we did get to briefly FaceTime with a bunch of friends here in town and also a lot of the hikers we know, who were also there at this little spot of greenery, showers, swimming and lots of food.
