Kyle Reaches One-Fiddy + A Hiker Haiku…

Kyle 150 Miles PCT 2018

Not his favorite trek to be sure…but he made it to Idyllwild and the 150 mile-marker! (only 2,500 more miles to go…)

When I left him…it was windy and cold, extremely windy, and he said that he ended up on an exposed area and really just could not find a good camp spot in those conditions and hiked a 24 mile day. And in the course of that didn’t properly tend to his feet. He gave them a soak at Warner Springs and then carried on.

Two days later on Thursday afternoon, and ahead of schedule, he arrived at Idyllwild with this message:

A Hiking Haiku –

Legs strong like steel
Spirit of soaring eagle
Oh crap feet hurt like hell

So now the smart man has learned once again that you gots to take care of your feet! He said it was like being stuck with needles and walking on hot coals at the same time. But he says that truly, other than this one issue, he is feeling very, very good!

So he is bunked down in Idyllwild for a 2 day rest and then will be back on the trail again soon.
